Look Ma' No Hands

The Look Ma’ I’m Ready for School Event will take place this Monday, August 23^rd at the Eldon and Elsie Ward YMCA on Woodland Ave between the hours of 4pm and 7pm.  The YMCA is located at 130 Woodland Ave., near Franklin Park, off East Broad Street.  For more information please contact 614-252-3166.

This back to school event is sponsored by The Look Ma’ No Hands Non-Profit Organization and African American Male Initiative of The Columbus Urban League.

Barbers from all around Central Ohio will donate their services to young men, elementary school through high school, in need of hair cuts before going back to school and we will have a few women volunteers who will paint the young ladies’ fingernails to promote self-esteem. Ohio State will donate volunteers to give head to toe physicals for the children and the Ohio Diabetes Association will also have volunteers testing the parents for diabetes while they wait for their children.  Lastly, we have school supplies that we will be giving away to students in need. Please feel free to join us, whether you are in need of school supplies, a haircut, physical or would like to just come fellowship with us.
